Consumers want stuff 'right now.' Buyers need to be fast to deliver.
Across the retail, hospitality and food service verticals, the job of being a buyer is getting harder and harder due to the ongoing shifts in consumer buying behavior. No longer can buyers accurately project inventory demand 12 months in the future. Instead, modern retailers need to be more nimble to cater to consumer demand that is spread across numerous channels and that wants to make purchases and acquire products in varying ways, including traditional in-store, as well as same-day delivery. To meet this shift, retail buyers are acting with increased agility, and are in turn demanding that same speed and flexibility from wholesalers and brands they buy from.
